Description: Zagora (FR) CH , M, foaled March 13, 2007 ( Green Tune - Zaneton (FR), by Mtoto (GB)) ran a perfectly timed race between horses in a stalking position, came out for racing room down the stretch and gained the lead at the 1/16 pole to win the 1 1/4 mile Grade I $2 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf by 3/4 of a length November 2 2012 at Santa Anita Park. She was expertly ridden by Champion Award winning jockey Javier Castellano. Marketing Mix gained the lead briefly and looked to be the winner but was caught by Zagora and had to settle for second. Just a 1/2 behind Marketing Mix came the favorite, The Fugue, after a much troubled trip. Five year old Zagora has had a brilliant career, she has won 10 of 22 races with 5 seconds and 3 thirds and almost all of her races were in Graded company. She has won over $2.3 million. She is scheduled to be in Keeneland Breeding Stock Sale later this month. Zagora was bred in France by E. Puerari & Oceanic Bloodstock and she is owned by Martin S Schwartz.
