Description: Twilight Eclipse (KY) B , G, foaled March 27, 2009 ( Purim - My Twilight Dancer, by Twilight Agenda) gets his first Grade I victory in the 11 furlong $400K Man O' War Stakes at Belmont Park May 9, 2015. Regular rider Javier Castellano sent Twilight Eclipse out after War Dancer from the break and tracked that one down the stretch for the first time, around the Clubhouse turn, and up the back stretch over the firm turf course. Twilight Eclipse was asked to engage War Dancer as they came out of the far turn and was set down for the drive. War Dancer and Twilight Eclipse battled to the wire with Twilight Eclipse coming away with a neck victory. Hyper was 2 lengths further back for the show. Twilight Eclipse has been running in tough company since his last victory the Grade II Mac Diarmida Stakes at Gulfstream Park February 15, 2014. He finishes no worse than 3rd in his last 6 tries, beaten by small margins against the 2014 Older Grass Horse Eclipse Award Champion Main Sequence in 5 of those races. In his last out he was again narrowly beaten by Imagining and Pyrite Mountain in the Grade II Pan American Stakes at Gulfstream Park March 28th. Owned by West Point Thoroughbreds for most of his career, Twilight Eclipse is 7-5-4 from 24 starts and he has earned $1,587,986.
