Description: Trade Storm (GB) B , H, foaled May 6, 2008 (Trade Fair (GB) - Frisson (GB), by Slip Anchor (GB)) comes back to North America and comes away with a victory in the $1 million Woodbine Mile on a turf course listed as 'good' September 14, 2014. Great Britain's Jamie Spencer made the trip overseas to ride Trade Storm for trainer David Simcock. Trade Storm broke a bit slowly, however he recovered nicely to run up to follow Kaigun up the backstretch along the hedge. Bobby's Kitten was away best and Ancil stayed close to him to apply mild pressure on the front end. As they rounded the far turn Ancil could not keep up and Bobby's Kitten had the lead entering the furlong grounds. Trade Storm had followed Kaigun around the turn and both of those were looking for racing room as they got after Bobby's Kitten. Kaigun remained to the outside of Bobby's Kitten and Trade Storm found an opening down along the inside. Then in deep stretch Trade Storm altered course to go around Bobby's Kitten just as Kaigun was making one last charge. Trade Storm got the win by 1/2 length over Kaigun and Bobby's Kitten was 1 3/4 lengths further back in 3rd. Trade Storm was been to the post 34 times and has a race record of 6-5-3 with earnings of $1,430,898. He was bred by G. T. Lucas and he is owned by Qatar Racing Limited. Sheikh Fahad at Qatar Racing bought Trade Storm privately after he won a race in Dubai early last year. Jockey Jamie Spencer is seeking to retire from riding after this season and plans to take a management position with Qatar Racing. The Woodbine Mile is a Breeders' Cup World Championships 'Win & You're In' Challenge Series race and Trade Storm gets all entry fees and a travel stipend for a starting position in the BC Mile November 1, 2014 at Santa Anita Park.  Trade Storm is not nominated for the Mile, however, his connections are now pointing him towards the Breeders' Cup.
