Description: Tower of Texas (ON) B , G, foaled February 3, 2011 (Street Sense - Rare Opportunity, by Danzig Connection) moves up the class ladder to win the 8 furlong $200K Grade II King Edward Stakes on the 'firm' turf at Woodbine June 21, 2015. Jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva settled Tower Of Texas down along the rail as Stacked Deck and Excaper out front as the field raced up the back stretch. Stacked Deck and Excaper got away from the field as they rounded the far turn, however, Tower Of Texas closed ground along the rail and Platinum Glory came running along the outside. As they entered the stretch, Excaper was giving Stacked Deck a bid for the lead, Tower Of Texas came through along the inside as the two leaders were fighting it out in mid track. Tower Of Texas post a 2 3/4 victory over Platinum Glory who got up to edge Stacked Deck for the place by a nose. Tower Of Texas is 4-3-2 from 12 and has earned $296,891 for his owners Tom Van Meter II and Scott Dilworth.
