Description: Tepin (KY) B , F, foaled March 14, 2011 (Bernstein - Life Happened, by Stravinsky) is on a three race win streak with a victory in the 8 furlong $700K Grade I Just A Game Stakes on the 'good' turf course at Belmont Park June 6, 2015. Tepin has been on the shelf since her 8th place finish in the Grade I Del Mar Oaks last August. She made her first start as a four year old with a win in an AOC (no tag) turf event at Gulfstream Park March 21st. Then Tepin went wire to wire in the Grade II Distaff Turf Mile at Churchill Downs May 2nd. Jockey Julien Leparoux, up for all three of Tepin's starts this year, backed her off the pace set by Discreet Marq and Coffee Clique in the Just A Game as they traveled up the back stretch. Tepin was in the clear running in the 3rd spot as they leaders took them around the far turn. Filimbi was traveling behind the leaders and to the inside of Tepin and has no where to go as they rounded the turn and headed for home. At the top of the stretch Discreet Marq was set down for the drive and Tepin came to tackle that one inside the furlong grounds. Tepin got the lead in deep stretch, Filimbi finally got off the rail and made a charge but it was Tepin holding on for the win by a 1/2 length over Filimbi. Discreet Marq had to settle for the show beaten 3/4 lengths for the place. Tepin is now 5-1-1 from 11 starts and she has earned $955,973 for her owner Robert Masterson.
