Description: Take Charge Brandi (KY) CH , F, foaled February 7, 2012 (Giant's Causeway - Charming, by Seeking the Gold) set all the fractions and went on to her first stakes race in the 1 1/16 miles $2 million Grade I Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita Park November 1, 2014. Jockey Victor Espinoza sent Take Charge Brandi to the front and set moderate fractions of 22.99, 45.99, she got six panels in 1:10.07, the mile in 135.39, and a final time of 141.95. As Take Charge Brandi turned for home she had a 3 length advantage, Danette was making a strong move along the rail and Feathered was charging up on the outside. Take Charge Brandi kept to her task and won by 1/2 length as Top Decile closed strongly to get the place, 1/2 lengths in front of Wonder Gal back in 3rd. Take Charge Brandi went straight into Graded company after her first start, a MSW victory at Churchill Downs in June. She did run 2nd in the G3 Schuylerville, however her next three starts were off the board and she was turned loose in the Juvenile at odds of 61/1 as the longest price on the board. Take Charge Brandi earned 10 points towards a start in the Kentucky Oaks, the Juvenile Fillies is an Oaks prep race.
