Description: Sea Calisi (FR) B, F, foaled May 16, 2012 (Youmzain (IRE) - Triclaria (GER), by Surumu (GER)) gets her second Graded victory since coming over from Great Britain and France with a win in the 11 furlong $700K Grade I Beverly D Stakes on the 'firm' turf course at Arlington Park August 13, 2016. Jockey Florent Geroux and Sea Calisi settled towards the rear of the field as Elusive Million went out to show the way. Zipessa tracked Elusive Million and overtook that one as they were heading into the far turn. Sea Calisi moved up along the outside around the far turn and loomed boldly at the top of the stretch. Zipessa had a two length advantage heading for home however was no match for Sea Calisi as she went on by Zipessa inside the 1/8 pole and held off Al's Gal who closed ground late. Sea Calisi wins by 1/2 length over Al's Gal and Zipessa was 1 1/4 lengths further back for the show. Sea Calisi made her North American debut May 7th to win the G2 Sheepshead Bay at Belmont Park. She then ran second by 3/4 to Dacita in the G2 New York Stakes at Belmont Park June 10th. Sea Calisi is 4-2-3 from 10 starts and she has earned $825,513. She was bred by Derek Bloodstock, is owned by Martin Schwartz, and she is being trained by Chad Brown.
