Description: Peace and War (FL) B , F, foaled April 21, 2012 (War Front - More Oats Please, by Smart Strike) made her first North American start a winning one with a victory in the 1 1/16 miles $400K Grade I Alcibiades Stakes on the new dirt course rated 'wet fast' at Keeneland Race Course October 3rd, 2014. Jockey Julien Leparoux got Peace And War out of the outside post and let her settle into stride while angling towards the rail down the stretch and into the first turn. She was able to save ground around the turn and then steadily improved her position as they traveled up the back stretch. Peace And War gained ground on the front runners as they were spread out across the track coming out of the far turn and she had to steady momentarily while looking for racing room. Top Decile also closed well, found an opening and went for the lead. Peace And War found her opening towards the outside and quickly gained on Top Decile inside the furlong marker and went on to win by a 1/2 length. Paige was 1 3/4 lengths further back to finish 3rd. Peace And War is 2-1-0 from 4 starts and she has earned $250,017. She was bred by Sally Anderson and she is owned by Qatar Racing. Peace And War is being trained by Olly Stevens.
