Description: Palace (NY) B , H, foaled April 1, 2009 (City Zip - Receivership, by End Sweep) gets his second Grade I in a row with a sharp victory in the 7 furlong $500K Grade I Forego Stakes on a fast track at Saratoga Race Course August 30, 2014. Jockey Cornelio Velasquez had Palace tracking the speed in third along the rail. As the the field rounded the turn Palace had to stay on the inside as Confrontation and Clearly Now were racing to his outside. Turning for home the pace setter, Zee Bros came out just a bit and Velasquez drove Palace down to race along the rail to get the lead just inside the 1/8th pole. Clearly Now had nothing left down the stretch and Vyjack also came through along the rail and Big Business found racing room between horses. But there was no catching Palace as he strides home to win by 3 1/2 lengths. Vyjack was edged by Big Business for second by a neck. Palace was claimed out of his $20K MCL way back in 2012 by his current owner Antonio Miuccio. Palace has been very consistent in his 21 race career with a record of 11-5-2. He has earned $1,309,550 on the race track. The Forego is a Breeders' Cup World Championship Challenge Series race and Palace gets his entry fees paid into the BC Sprint this fall at Santa Anita Park. Palace was bred by The Peter J.
