Description: Outstrip (GB) GR/RO, C, foaled January 27, 2011 (Exceed And Excel (AUS) - Asi Siempre, by El Prado (IRE)) and jockey Mike Smith came from the clouds to win the 1 mile $1 million Grade I Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita Park November 1, 2013. Bobby's Kitten set all the pace and had a nice lead until Giovanni Boldini started to come after him midway around the far turn. By the time they reached the top of the stretch Bobby's Kitten was all out to hold the lead. In the meantime, Outstrip, who was far back and in a pack of horses started to find some running room and came out of the turn with no one to his outside, he had his sight set on the leaders. Outstrip came at them hard and fast and got to them in the shadow of the wire to win by a 1/2 length over Giovanni Boldini. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back to Bobby's Kitten in 3rd. Outstrip was 2-1-1 from 4 starts in Great Britain before his North American debut. With his share of the purse from the Juvenile Turf he has now earned $731,034 for his owners, Goldolphin Racing, LLC. He was bred by Darley and he is trained by Charles Appleby.
