Description: Orb (KY) B , C, foaled February 24, 2010 (Malibu Moon - Lady Liberty, by Unbridled) skyrockets to the top of the Kentucky Derby Points leader with 150 points and non-restricted earnings of $840,000 with his win in the 1 1/8 miles $1 million Grade I Florida Derby March 30 2013 at Gulfstream Park. Orb makes it 4 wins in a row, 2 Graded stakes victories in a row on his Road to the Kentucky Derby. His last win was a scintillating win over Violence in the Fountain of Youth Stakes February 23. Violence was a top contender for the Derby but he suffered a fractured sesamoid in his front right ankle and has been retired. Orb was taken in hand by Hall of Fame jockey John Velasquez to stalk the pacesetters then went wide around the far turn, met pressure from Itsmyluckyday (Holy Bull winner) and then kicked clear inside the 1/8 pole to win going away by 2 3/4 lengths. Itsmyluckday had to settle for 2nd, 2 1/4 lengths in front of Merit Man in 3rd. Orb is now 4 of 7 lifetime starts and has won $921,050 for his owner/breeder Stuart S.
