Description: Nyquist (KY) B , C, foaled March 10, 2013 (Uncle Mo - Seeking Gabrielle, by Forestry) remains undefeated with victories after his determined effort in the 8.5 furlong $300K Grade I FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita Park September 26, 2015. Jockey Mario Gutierrez sent Nyquist up between horses to vie for the lead into the Clubhouse turn with Go Long on the rail and Mt Veeder on the outside. As they straightened for the run up the back stretch Go Long had the lead with Nyquist keeping the pressure on a length behind in 2nd and Mt Veeder keep after them in 3rd. Swipe moved up between horses to race in behind Nyquist, keeping Mt Veeder on the outside. As they entered the far turn Nyquist and Mt Veeder came on to challenge Go Long for the lead. As they turned for home Go Long gave way and Mt Veeder could not match strides with Nyquist. Swipe came through along the rail and engaged Nyquist at the 1/16th pole and Nyquist battled on to win by 3/4 lengths. Hollywood Don was 5 3/4 lengths further back in 3rd. Nyquist is 4 for 4 and he has earned $513,600 for his owner Paul Reddam. The FrontRunner is a Breeders' Cup World Championships Challenge Series race and he gets a free entry into the BC Juvenile October 31st at Keeneland. The FrontRunner is also a Kentucky Derby Prep Season race and the first four finishers get points towards a start in the 2016 Kentucky Derby on a scale of 10-4-2-1.
