Description: Mucho Macho Man (FL) B , H, foaled June 15, 2008 (Macho Uno - Ponche de Leona, by Ponche) and Hall of Fame rider Gary Stevens showed their best stuff on the World's stage November 2, 2013 when they won the 1 1/4 miles $5 million Grade I Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park. Moreno and Fort Larned set the early pace, Game On Dude and Mucho Macho Man in close attention behind them. As they entered the far turn Moreno backed out of it and Game On Dude came on to join Fort Larned with Mucho Macho Man matching strides on the outside. Declaration Of War was a threatening presence as they turned for home and Will Take Charge was winding up on the far outside. Game On Dude could not keep up as Fort Larned kept on at the rail but Mucho Macho Man struck the front and headed for home. Declaration Of War came after him but could not match strides as Will Take Charge made a furious charge to get to the leader but fell short by a nose. It was just a head further back to Declaration Of War in 3rd. One has to look no further to see the heart and courage of a Champion. Mucho Macho Man danced every dance on the Road to the Roses and the Triple Crown Trail of 2011. He came back as a 4 year old and won the Grade II Suburban Handicap on his way to his first Breeders' Cup Classic. In the 2012 Classic Fort Larned set the early pace with Mucho Macho Man running a close second. Fort Larned sneaked away going into the far turn and opened up a 3 length advantage. Mike Smith on Mucho Macho Man quickly got after Brian Hernandez Jr and Fort Larned and inside the furlong grounds the two were slugging it out to the wire. Fort Larned won by a 1/2 length. Mucho Macho Man was lightly raced as a 5 year old, but signaled his readiness with a Tour de Force victory in the Grade I Awesome Again Stakes September 28, 2013 at Santa Anita. Mucho Macho Man's race record is 8-5-6 from 23 starts and he has earned $5,340,410. Mucho Macho Man is owned by Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, he was bred by John and Carole Rio and he is being trained by Kathy Ritvo.  Drawing by Daily Racing Funnies ®.
