Description: Mor Spirit (PA) DK B/, R, foaled April 1, 2013 (Eskendereya - Im a Dixie Girl, by Dixie Union) makes his 3 year old debut a winning one with a victory in the 8.5 furlong $150K Grade III Robert B Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita Park February 6, 2016. Regular rider Gary Stevens (aboard for four of Mor Spirit's starts) and Mor Spirit stalked the pace set by I Will Score. Uncle Lino applied pressure to the front runner as they raced up the back stretch and around the far turn. Mor Spirit tracked those two from the outside around that turn and when set down for the drive Mor Spirit went by the pair to score by 1 1/2 lengths. Uncle Lino finished 1/2 length in front of I Will Score for the place and it was 5 3/4 lengths further back to Dressed In Hermes in fourth. The first four finishers earned Kentucky Derby Points on a scale of 10-4-2-1. Mor Spirit is 2nd on the Points Leaderboard with 24, Nyquist has the lead with 30 points.
