Description: Kobe's Back (KY) GR/RO, H, foaled April 9, 2011 (Flatter - Well, by Well Decorated) reels off another major sprint victory with a win in the 7 furlong $300K Grade II San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita Park March 12, 2016. Jockey Gary Stevens and Kobe's Back broke alertly and as customary was taken back to trail the field out of the chute and onto the main track. Mystery Train sped off to show the way with Outside Nashville applying pressure as they raced up the back stretch. Kobe's Back started to make his move as they rounded the far turn and at the top of the stretch he kicked it in on the outside and caught Coastline to win going away by 1 1/2 lengths. Calculator ran a big race between horses 1/2 lengths further back for the show. Kobe's Back was coming off victory in the 6 furlong Grade II Palos Verdes Stakes to make it 2 for 2 as he enters his 5 year old year. He is 5-3-2 from 18 starts and he has earned $952,250 for his owners at C R K Stable. Kobe's Back was bred by Joanne R. Mummert and he is being trained by Peter Eurton.
