Description: Honor Code (KY) DK B/, R, foaled March 1, 2011 (A.P. Indy - Serena's Cat, by Storm Cat) came from far back and ran down Private Zone and Valid in deep stretch to win the 8 furlong $300K Grade II Gulfstream Park Handicap March 7, 2015. Regular rider Javier Castellano settled Honor Code well back of the dueling pacesetters and then came with a rush as they rounded the far turn. Honor Code caught Private Zone in deep stretch to win by 1/2 length. Valid stayed on for the show 1/22 length behind Private Zone. Honor Code was making his first start in four months for trainer Claude McGaughey III. He is 4-2-0 from 6 starts and he has earned $626,740. Honor Code was a contender for the 2014 Kentucky Derby after his 2nd place finish to Havana in the Grade I Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 5, 2013 and his victory in the Grade II Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct November 30, 2013 at two. However, he finished a distant 2nd to Social Inclusion in an Allowance event at Gulfstream Park March 12, 2014 as a three year old. It was discovered he had a tear in his in his right hind upper suspensory. He was given time off to recover and came back in November to win an AOC (no tag) at Aqueduct.
