Description: Got Lucky (KY) DK B/, F, foaled April 3, 2011 (A.P. Indy - Malka, by Deputy Minister) wins the 9 furlong $500 Grade I Spinster Stakes at Keeneland October 4, 2015. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. settled Got Lucky into stride towards the rear as Lovely Maria and Yahilwa vied for the lead around the Clubhouse turn and up the back stretch. Untapable was tracking those two in tight quarters in third. Yahilwa had a narrow advantage after a half mile and Untapable found some running room and went to the outside as the entered the far turn. Got Lucky was advancing fast along the rail at the top three were in a line across the track as they turned for home. Untapable hit the front as they straightened for home and Yahilwa was battling back on the rail, Lovely Maria gave way. In deep stretch it was Untapable and Yahilwa reaching for the rail. Got Lucky came off the rail at the 1/8 pole and was coming fast. In the shadow of the wire Got Lucky had the lead to win by a neck over Untapable. Yahilwa had to settle for 3rd beaten less than a half length for all the money. Got Lucky is 6-6-0 from 16 starts and she has earned $951,340 for her owner/breeders at J.G. Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms and Phillip Steinberg. She is being trained by Todd Pletcher.
