Description: Exaggerator (KY) DK B/, C, foaled February 5, 2013 (Curlin - Dawn Raid, by Vindication) gets another victory over nemesis Nyquist in the 9 furlong $1 million Grade I Haskell Invitational Stakes over the 'sloppy' going at Monmouth Park July 31, 2016. Jockey Kent Desormeaux and Exaggerator trailed the field early as Nyquist set the pace with American Freedom pressing him all the way. American Freedom took the lead after a 1/2 mile, Nyquist came back from the inside to battle for the lead around the far turn and into the stretch. Exaggerator moved up mid way up the back stretch to race along in the fourth spot, moved up along the outside around the far turn, took command at the 1/8th pole and drew of to win by 1 1/2 lengths. American Freedom stayed on well for the place, 2 lengths in front of Sunny Ridge. Nyquist was a neck further back in 4th. Exaggerator is 6-3-1 from 13 starts and he has earned $3,571,120. He was bred by Joseph Murphy, owned by Big Chief Racing, Head of Plains Partners, & Rocker O Ranch. Exaggerator is being trained by Keith Desormeaux.
