Hall Of Fame jockey Calvin Borel took El Kabeir straight to the front and had things his own way Imperia started to make his run as they rounded the far turn, however El Kabeir had a clear lead as they ran to the 1/16th pole. Imperia was joined by Eagle for in deep stretch for one last desperate surge; El Kabeir just did get there by head over Imperia. It was just 3/4 lengths further back to Eagle in 3rd. El Kabeir has a total of 11 points, he earned 1 point for his 4th place finish to Daredevil in the G1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park in October. El Kabeir then ran second to runaway winner Blofeld in the G2 Nashua at Aqueduct (no Derby points) earlier this month.
