Description: El Kabeir (FL) GR/RO, C, foaled March 18, 2012 (Scat Daddy - Great Venue, by Unbridled's Song) had a successful campaign leading up to the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs May 2, 2015. However, he did not train the morning of May 1st. Owner Ahmed Zayat told The Bloodhorse "It might be the beginning of an abscess or a quarter crack, and at this juncture we decided not to take him to the track," and noted that during his April 30 exercise El Kabeir "was golden." El Kabeir returned to the races October 31st and ran 5th in the G3 Bold Ruler Hcp at Belmont Park. He then won the City of Laurel Stakes at Laurel Park November 14th.
