Description: Egg Drop (FL) GR/RO, F, foaled February 10, 2009 (Alphabet Soup - Rehocracy, by Adhocracy) gets her third straight Graded victory with a sharp win in the 1 mile $250K Matriarch Stakes on the turf at Hollywood Park December 1, 2013. Egg Drop and jockey Martin Garcia went to front from the start and held a nice lead until the 1/4 pole when Discreet Marq started to make a race out of it. As they straightened for home Discreet Marq took the lead from the outside as Egg Drop looked to beaten at the 1/8 pole down along the rail but Egg Drop came back to take the lead inside the 1/16 marker and won by a nose. Discreet Marq had to settle for 2nd. A fast closing Better Lucky was 1/2 length further back in 3rd. Egg Drop comes off wins in the in the Grade II Goldikova Stakes at Santa Anita November 3rd and the Grade II Yellow Ribbon Handicap at Del Mar September 2nd, both on the turf. She is now 6-2-2 from 12 starts and she has earned $494,020.
