Description: Coach Inge (KY) B , G, foaled March 21, 2011 (Big Brown - Touch too Much, by Holy Bull) climbs out of the Allowance races to register his biggest win with a victory in the 12 furlong $400K Grade II Brooklyn Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park June 6, 2015. Jockey John Velazquez sent Coach Inge out at the start to match strides with Call Me George into the Clubhouse turn. Coach Inge took back a 1/2 length off Call Me George out of that turn but then those two ran as a team up the back stretch. Sky Kingdom was carried four wide around the Clubhouse turn then found a nice spot just off the pace as they raced towards the far turn. V.E. Day was in the main pack stalking the leaders just 3 lengths off the pace. Call Me George and Coach Inge rounded the far turn together, Sky Kingdom came after them on the outside and V.E. was mounting a charge as they turned for home. Coach Inge got away from Call Me George but was quickly joined by V.E. Day and those two went at it to the wire with Coach Inge prevailing by a neck at the line. Sky Kingdom was 5 1/4 lengths further back in 3rd. Coach Inge ran his record to 4-2-1 from 10 starts and has earnings of $376,177. He was bred by Paul Pompa Jr., owned by Repole Stable, and he is being trained by Todd Pletcher. Drawing by Daily Racing Funnies ®.
