Description: Brody's Cause (KY) B , C, foaled March 17, 2013 (Giant's Causeway - Sweet Breanna, by Sahm) goes from MSW to Grade I victory in the 8.5 furlong $500K Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland October 3, 2015. Jockey Corey Lanerie settled Brody's Cause well off the pace set by Sheikh Of Sheikhs. Rated R Superstar went with Sheikh Of Sheikhs keeping the pressure on as they traveled up the back stretch. Exaggerator was settled into 5th along the rail a couple of lengths off the pace and Brody's Cause was biding his time towards the rear. As they rounded the far turn Sheikh Of Sheikhs got away from them and looked to be heading for home. However, Rated R Superstar took a breather along the inside and then went after the leader on the outside to head that one as they turned for home. Exaggerator also saved ground around the turn as found himself a seam between Rated R Superstar and Sheikh Of Sheikhs to emerge with the lead as they raced down the stretch. Brody's Cause was gobbling up real estate and made a bold move along the outside rounding the turn and into the stretch. Brody's Cause caught Exaggerator in deep stretch to win by a length. Rated R Superstar was a 1 3/4 further back in 3rd. Brody's Cause is now 2 for 3 and he has earned $323,138 for his owners at the Albaugh Family Stable. He was bred by Gabriel Duignan, William Arvin, Jr. & Petaluma Bloodstock and he is being trained by Dale Romans. The Breeders' Futurity is a Breeders' Cup World Championships Challenge Series race and Brody's cause gets his entry fees paid towards a start in the BC Juvenile at Keeneland October 31st at Keeneland. The Futurity is also a Kentucky Derby Prep Season race and the first four finishers receive points on a sliding scale of 10-4-2-1 towards a berth in the 2016 Kentucky Derby the first Saturday in May.
