Description: Big Blue Kitten (KY) B , H, foaled May 1, 2008 (Kitten's Joy - Spent Gold, by Unaccounted For) was kept off the pace by jockey Joe Bravo then came running to win the 1 3/8 miles $500K Grade I United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park July 6 2013. Jockey Bravo gave Big Blue Kitten a ground saving trip, gained ground and raced into contention along the inside around the far turn, looked like he wanted to come outside of front running Little Mike but that path was taken up by Teaks North who was also gaining on the leader at the top of the stretch. Big Blue Kitten slipped through an opening at the rail and opened up winning by 1 1/4 lengths over Teaks North. It was a length further back to Hangover Kid in 3rd. Big Blue Kitten has now won 9 of 16 starts, two of those Grade I and II victories and has earned $698,530 for his owner/breeder Ken and Sarah Ramsey and he is being trained by Chad Brown.
