Description: Beholder (KY) B, M, foaled May 9, 2010 (Henny Hughes- Leslie's Lady, by Tricky Creek) rang up her 10th Grade I victory and extender her win streak to 8 straight with her usual dominating style in the $400K Vanity Mile at Santa Anita Park June 4, 2016. Regular rider Gary Stevens and Beholder broke alertly and tracked the pace set by Lost Bus. As they rounded the far turn, Beholder inched closer to Lost Bus and once they hit the 1/4 pole she drew off to win by 1 1/2 lengths under very little urging. Stellar Wind tracked the leaders from the rail up the back stretch, angled of the rail turning for home and could not threaten Beholder. Finest City ranged up on the outside rounding the far turn, couldn't match strides with the two Champions, and settled for the show 3/4 lengths behind Stellar Wind. Beholder is now 17-3-0 from 22 starts and she has earned $4,736,600 for her owners at Spendthrift Farm. She was bred by Clarkland Farm and she is being trained by Richard Mandella.
