Description: Avenge (KY) DK B/, F, foaled March 21, 2012 (War Front - Lerici, by Woodman) strings together 3 in a row with a victory in the 10 furlong $300K Grade I Rodeo Drive Stakes over the 'firm' turf course at Santa Anita October 1, 2016.  Jockey Flavien Prat and Avenge went to the front from the start and led every step of the way.  Zipessa set up the chase in the second spot, turned up the heat as they turned for home to draw even with Avenge, however, Avenge had lots left for the drive and turned back the challenge to win by 3/4 lengths.  Frenzified chased from the 3rd spot, had to battle at times to maintain her position and checked in 1 1/4 lengths further back for the show.  Avenge is 6-0-1 from 12 starts and she has earned $471,996 for her owner Ramona Bass.  She was bred by the Lerici Syndicate and she is being trained by Richard Mandella.  The Rodeo Drive is a Breeders' Cup World Championships Challenge 'Win & You're In' Series race and Avenge earned a free berth in the 2016 BC F&M Turf at Santa Anita November 5th.
