Description: Ken and Sarah Ramsey enjoyed a Banner Weekend as three of their Kitten's Joy sired offspring won all of their assigned Grade I events August 17 2013.

Big Blue Kitten (KY) B , H, foaled May 1, 2008 (Kitten's Joy - Spent Gold, by Unaccounted For) was first up in the 1 1/2 miles $600K Grade I Sword Dancer Invitational Stakes on the turf at Saratoga. Ridden with patience and courage by jockey Joe Bravo, Big Blue Kitten was racing at the rear of the field around the first turn. Bravo kept him as the field rounded that first turn and Big Blue Kitten was seen passing horses along the inside to gain closer order as they raced down the backstretch. Bravo again made up tremendous ground as he kept Big Blue Kitten along the rail entering the far turn and kept him there as they turned for home. Twilight Eclipse had gained the lead and Nutello was to his inside. Big Blue Kitten had found an opening and charged through to run down the leaders inside the final furlong to win by a length over Twilight Eclipse. It was 1 3/4 lengths back to Nutello in 3rd. Big Blue Kitten scored his 2nd Grade I event in a row, he just won the United Nations at Monmouth July 6. His record is 10-2-4 from 17 starts and he has earned $1,058,530. Chad Brown is the trainer for Big Blue Kitten.

Admiral Kitten (KY) B , C, foaled April 24, 2010 (Kitten's Joy - Reachinforthestars, by Grand Slam) and jockey Rosie Napravnik were next up in the 1 1/4 miles $500K Grade I Secretariat Stakes on the turf at Arlington Park. Rosie got Admiral Kitten away in good order to race near the inside and advanced steadily down the backstretch. Admiral Kitten found a seam between horse around the far turn and was able to swing to the outside to run past Jack Milton and get after Stormy Len who had a 3 length lead turning for home. Admiral Kitten got by Stormy Len late and won by 1 1/4 lengths. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back to Jack Milton in 3rd. Admiral Kitten has a race record of 3-4-0 from 9 starts and he has earned $459,080. It was his first Graded win. He is being trained by Michael Maker.

Real Solution (PA) B , C, foaled January 17, 2009 (Kitten's Joy - Reachfortheheavens, by Pulpit) and jockey Alan Garcia completed the Hat Trick for the Ramsey's with a victory in the headliner, the 1 1/4 miles $1 million Grade I Arlington Handicap on the turf at Arlington Park. Real Solution appeared a bit rank while racing down along the inside into the first turn and down the backstretch. Jockey Garcia got him settled after a half mile and got him into gear as they rounded the far turn. Lat year's Million winner Little Mike had disposed of his rival for most of the trip, Mull Of Killough, regained the lead at the top of the stretch but had little left for the drive. The Apache ranged up and took the lead but Real Solution quickly gained on him and they battled to the wire. The Apache actually won the race by a head but after a review of the stretch run by the Stewards, The Apache was disqualified for interference down the stretch and placed second. It was 2 lengths further back to Side Glance who finished 3rd. It was Real Solution's first Graded win and is 4 of 8 and he has earned $671,175. The Arlington Million is a Breeders' Cup Challenge Win and You're In event, Real Solution has earned a free berth in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita this November. Real Solution is trained by Chad Brown.
