Description: Leigh Court (KY) DK B/, F, foaled April 2, 2010 (Grand Slam - Padmore, by French Deputy) gets her ticket punched to the Breeders' Cup F&M Sprint with her victory in the 6 furlong $200K Grade II Thoroughbred Club Of America Stakes at Keeneland October 4, 2014. Jockey Gary Boulanger moved Leigh Court along the rail up the back stretch to chase the pace set by R Free Roll and Stonetastic. As they rounded the far turn Leigh Court angled to the outside and closed strongly at the 1/4 pole to challenge Stonetastic for the lead as R Free Roll backed out of it. Stonetastic could not match strides with Leigh Court and Leigh Court went on to win by 3 open lengths. Southern Honey came along and got 2nd, 3/4 lengths in front of Stonetastic in 3rd. A homebred of Eugene Melnyk, Leigh Court has a record of 7-2-0 from 11 starts and she has earned $537,673. She is being trained by Josie Carroll. The TCOA is a Breeders' Cup World Championships 'Win & You're In' Challenge Series race and Leigh Court will get her entry fees paid into the Filly & Mare Sprint November 1, 2014 at Santa Anita Park.
