Description: Big Blue Kitten (KY) B , R, foaled May 1, 2008 (Kitten's Joy - Spent Gold, by Unaccounted For) wins the 11 furlong $500K Grade I United Nations Stakes for the second time in three years at Monmouth Park July 5, 2015 over a firm turf course. Jockey Joe Bravo settled Big Blue Kitten into stride mid pack as Shining Copper went out to blaze the way up the stretch for the first time, around the Clubhouse turn and up the back stretch often leading by double digits. Big Blue Kitten started to reel in the leader as they approached the far turn. Mid-way around the far turn Big Blue Kitten was set down and closed well on the outside and with a furlong to go he collared Shining Copper and went on to win by 1 1/2 lengths. Slumber was well back in the field and hit his best stride in mid stretch for the place. Twilight Eclipse had a ground saving trip along the rail the whole trip and tried to stay there as they turned for home. With no where to along the rail Twilight Eclipse angled to the outside and closed well missing the place by a neck. Big Blue Kitten is 13-7-4 from 27 starts and he has earned $2,090,830 for his owners/breeders Ken & Sarah Ramsey. He is being trained by Chad Brown. The United Nations Stakes is a Breeders' Cup World Championships Challenge Series race and Big Blue Kitten gets his ticket punched for a start in the BC Turf October 31st at Keeneland.
