Description: American Pharoah (KY) B, H, foaled February 2, 2012 (Pioneerof the Nile - Littleprincessemma, by Yankee Gentleman) retired in 2015 with earnings of $8,650,300 from 11 starts (9-1-0). He became the first Thoroughbred to win America's Triple Crown since 1978. American Pharoah was named the Eclipse Award 2014 Champion 2 Year Old Colt and he was also named the Eclipse Award 2015 Champion 3 Year Old Colt and 2015 Horse Of The Year. He won his Swan Song, the 2015 Breeders' Cup World Championships Classic to become the first horse to hit a 'Grand Slam': a victory in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes, and the BC Classic. American Pharoah is a homebred of Zayat Stables, his regular rider was Victor Espinoza and his trainer was Bob Baffert. His first season at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in 2016 commanded an advertised fee of $200,000. According to report of mares bred statistics released by The Jockey Club, he covered 208 mares in his initial season. By the end of the breeding season, 47 Grade 1 winners or producers were in foal to American Pharoah. American Pharoah's stud fee for 2017 is 'private'.
Among American Pharoah's first mares was Oussama Aboughazale's Kakadu (KY) B, F, foaled February 8, 2013 (Tizway - Alpha Spirit, by A.P. Indy). She had a live foal, a colt, January 3rd at 12:30 AM at Brookdale Farm, her first foal. Kakadu raced once finishing well back in a Maiden Special Weight October 18, 2015 at Gulfstream Park West. She is a half sister to multiple grade stakes winner Protonico and is from the immediate female family of Chilean champion and grade 1 winner Wild Spirit.
